Obama City, home to Hashikura Matsukan, is a major production center for Wakasa lacquered chopsticks with over 400 years of history. It is said that Wakasa lacquered chopsticks now account for over 80% of Japan's total lacquered chopstick production.
Since its founding, the company has preserved traditional chopstick-making techniques while challenging itself to create innovative chopsticks suited to each era.
Because chopsticks are something we pick up and put in our mouths every day, we insist on using only natural materials and having craftsmen meticulously handcraft each pair.
This time, we selected colors and created designs inspired by the soft scenery offered by the unique weather of the Hokuriku region, where Obama is located, and the sky and sea facing the Japan Sea.
Please enjoy the soft hues that complement any dining table.
