Saikai Toki was originally founded in 1946, shortly after the end of World War II, when the Kodama family, potters in Hasami-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture, began peddling their wares with a single wheeled cart.
Their goal was to enable everyone to use traditional handicrafts in their daily lives and enrich their lives.
Since Hasami Town is adjacent to Arita Town in Saga Prefecture, it had been a production center of Arita-yaki porcelain, but in 2000, the town was forced to tighten the labeling of its place of origin, so it decided to launch a new brand as "Hasami-yaki" with a single thought in mind.
Saikai Toki became the driving force behind this new brand, and continues to produce tableware that adds color to people's lives.
This time, we have a lineup of new products from our regular designer collaborations, as well as dishes with the flavor of spring.
Please check them out.
