CLOCOMI, born from the desire to communicate with customers through cloth, is an original brand of KONDO FACTORY Co Ltd, a manufacturer of Banshu-ori textiles established over 60 years ago in Taka-machi, Hyogo Prefecture.
Banshu-ori is a textile that has been produced for more than 200 years, starting with cotton cultivation that made use of the rich natural environment and developed into a local industry using techniques learnt from Kyoto Nishijin brocade.
Banshu weaving is characterised by the fact that the threads are dyed first and then the pattern is woven, giving it a three-dimensional effect and making it resistant to colour fading.
At Kondo Factory, Yoshiki Kondo, the third generation, fuses the weaving techniques he learnt in Italy with the family business of Banshu-ori,
The younger brother, Makoto Kondo, is in charge of design, and handles the entire process from fabric production to product development.
Under the concept of ‘creating something new, interesting and beneficial for someone’, the company engages in trial-and-error until it is satisfied with the quality of its products.
We would be delighted if you could take our products in your hands and experience them for yourself.
