History
Been making ceramic potteries with originally invented glazes for more than 30 years
I was born in Yamashina, Kyoto, in 1953.
I have learned most of my skills and basis of craftsmanship under Morihisa Kimura who was one of the designated intangible cultural assets in Kyoto prefecture.
For more than 30 years, I have manufactured products with my original glaze.
Characteristic
The collaboration of colors created by ash and fire
We make the glaze made by ashing natural plants such as cedars, grapes, and sunflowers.
Ashes are only extracted in small portions each time; A huge amount of plants and woods provides only the handful of them.
By dissolving the extracted ashes into the water, and replacing them constantly to remove impurities we finally get the ash glaze.
For Customers
A pure inquiring mind toward pottery
Each piece, made with all our hearts and dedication, differs from each other. By not forgetting pure curiosity and having an inquiring mind toward pottery, we continue to cultivate the future paths of Kyoto/Kiyomizu ware and our brand Dainichi.
