History
Metalworking in Kyoto Continued Since Ancient Times
Hayami Seisakusyo is a metalworking manufacturer founded in Kyoto in 1969.
We manufacture precision parts specializing in stainless steel, a difficult-to-machine material, and aluminum.
The history of metalworking in Japan is long, dating back to the Yayoi period.
With the arrival of Buddhism, temples and Buddhist statues were built one after another, and metalworking technology developed greatly.
Later, during the Heian period (794-1185), metalworkers moved from Nara to Kyoto, and many metal products were made in Kyoto.
Many of the companies that inherited these techniques gradually began to manufacture machinery and industrial parts as time went by.
The founder of our company developed a drilling technique for stainless steel, which is considered one of the most difficult metals to handle.
At the request of a professor at Kyoto University, we developed parts for devices used in research on earthquakes and geological formations, and invented tools for medical use, but none of these were patented and we continued to help people.
The second generation took over the numerous techniques and moved them from analog to digital, resulting in the beautiful metalworking of today.
Characteristic
Tried and True Techniques With a Fresh Perspective
We feel that new ideas are needed to ride the wave of the new era while utilizing the skills of the artisans who have supported Kyoto's culture.
Therefore, we decided to apply the strength we have accumulated over 50 years of cutting difficult-to-machine materials such as stainless steel and aluminum, not only for parts, but also for tools that enrich our daily lives.
The combination of metal and daily necessities may seem somewhat inorganic, but it meets our goal ofcreating relaxing products that create a leisurely time and space.
At first glance, aluminum vases for single flowers and pen stands may appear to be a lump of metal, but by using motifs such as the traditional "kasumi" pattern or the familiar "apple" to express a gentle image, we have created wonderful products that will add color to your relaxing space.
Our large yet modern and stylish single-flower vase can be used to hold a small plant, as an incense holder, or as an objet d'art, depending on your ideas.
For Customers
A New Wave of Kyoto Products
Stainless steel and aluminum are now essential materials for society, but it is very difficult to achieve a beautiful luster by machining.
We have inherited the many techniques developed by our founder and digitally fused them to create products that we are committed to.
In the future, we intend to develop these techniques into products that everyone can handle on a daily basis.
This is because we feel that metal products have the power to make people happy.
Since ancient times, people have been thrilled, healed, and found a ray of hope in the shine of metal.
By precisely cutting the metal, we can create more delicate and beautiful products.
We will continue to present the products created by infusing new sensibilities into the advanced skills that have supported Kyoto's culture as "Kyoto products" of the future.
We hope that you will pick up one of these products as an item to create a relaxing space.
