History
The history of Kyoto and the culture of dyeing and weaving nurtured by nature
Our roots date back to 1930, when the first generation, Masazumi Washino, became independent after undergoing dyeing training.
As famous for Kyoyuzen and Nishijin-ori, Kyoto used to have a thriving dyeing and weaving industry, and the sensibilities of people with the fashion-conscious city and the environment blessed with a soft and abundant water source suitable for dyeing.
I have nurtured a culture.
With the changes of the times, the former prosperity of Kyoto Rakuhoku Ichijoji, which prospered as a major production area of Kyoto Yuzen, has been lost, but due to the effects of the war and other factors, it has suffered a number of hardships such as temporary closure.
I got over the road and continue to the present.
Characteristic
High-definition hand-printing
Since the days of our predecessor, Katsumi Washino, we have been the only hand-printed umbrella fabric in Kyoto.
The characteristic of hand-printing is the depth of color that is not found in inkjet printers, and we have made further improvements to achieve a sharper, more uniform and beautiful finish.
It hides secrets such as selecting the most suitable original glue according to the material, developing a unique color glue recipe, and using high mesh plate making that is more than twice as fine as before.
For Customers
Handmade charm created in collaboration with skilled craftsmen
In cooperation with the craftsmen of a long-established umbrella processing factory in Kyoto, we make the only umbrella by hand printing in Kyoto.
It is expected that severe rough waves will come to the world of crafts in the future, but it is our responsibility to take on the challenge of further evolution while inheriting the technology cultivated in Kyoto so far.
I think it is.
If you sympathize with our thoughts, please enjoy the commitment, texture, warmth, and precision created between the hands of craftsmen.
