Tatami has long been used as a flooring material in Japan, and has natural properties tha make it particularly suited for yoga mats.
Not only does it have a deodorizing effect, it also absorbs excess moisture and has a natually calming scent.
The underside is made of non-slip PVC rubber, which is typically used for yoga mats, to prevent slipping and provide cushioning.
The edge is made of Japanese-made Kaihara Denim, which has the highest quality and technical strength in Japan, and the mat can also be used as a decorative rug or runner in the hallway or kitchen.
