Description
Onigawara, which has a history of 1400 years, has protected Japanese houses and families since ancient times as an amulet and amulet. However, the number of houses where onigawara can be displayed on the roof is decreasing. Therefore, in order to match the modern architectural style, we created a product that realized the novel idea of "Onigawara to decorate the room".

Leaving tradition in the future
Hisashi Hagiwara
History
After studying under Western painter Nabesaburo Kito and Susumu Fukuyama at the YAG Drawing Institute, engaged in the family business of Onigawara.
Based on traditional Japanese designs, he works on the restoration of cultural properties such as Kinkakuji, Kiyomizudera, and Zenkoji, and the monuments of tiles.
My philosophy
To keep the traditional technique of Onigawara
Confident in "one-sword carving of spatula" to finish with one carving. The produced work is full of power that leaves some roughness.
"I want to preserve the tradition of 1400 years of history in the future." The goal is to make use of the traditional manufacturing technology of Onigawara to produce original products other than Onigawara, and to disseminate the technology and performance to the world.
Taking advantage of the nature of the material
Bamboo tools are often used, and there are more than 60 bamboo tools that he created.
The feature is that it has a smooth finish.
Instead of stroking, it is possible to use a technique called "Magari" to press and finish, and it is said that the shape can be freely shaped.
Focus points
Skilled technique gives life to the work
After drafting on clay, he is good at "one-sword carving of spatula", which is finished with one carving instead of carving finely many times.
By finishing with one carving, strength and momentum are expressed.
Skilled skill that never allows mistakes.
For Customers
The theme is inheritance of traditional techniques
It is the work of restoring temples and shrines that makes me feel very rewarding.
It is said that there is a feeling that Japanese traditional culture is left behind for posterity.
Not limited to Onigawara, we are striving to connect traditional techniques to the future as a work attitude.-
