Description
A world of imagination that will shine for 300 years to come
This hanging scroll depicts the fantastical world envisioned by the artist, rendered using Japanese painting pigments made from genuine gold and minerals resistant to aging.
Layers of pure gold leaf and cut-out gold leaf (gold leaf sprinkling) are applied. Pure gold paste adorns the eyes, beak, and feet, while white areas feature water-dried gypsum white (suihi gofun) and crystal pine. Moss is rendered with genuine lapis lazuli. Pigments and paints were meticulously selected to express the artist's vision.
Furthermore, the black background was hand-painted in layers to enhance the brilliance of the gold.
This piece transforms its expression depending on the angle of light, revealing diverse brilliance over time.
A true "world of fantasy" where the beauty of materials and the subtlety of technique merge.
We would be delighted if you could appreciate this as art for posterity, alongside the tradition of the hanging scroll.
