Sachiko Sawai
This tapestry elevates any space to a glamorous level
It is made by using fabric from chidiri (the Ainu word for kimono), which is cut and sewn into traditional Ainu patterns as an applique on cotton cloth.
The artist is an active member of the Hokkaido Ainu Association, an excellent craftsman, and an advisor to the Research Promotion Organization. She has received several awards including the Hokkaido Governor's Award.
In addition to displaying it in your home, it also makes for a lovely gift.
