This tapestry is made by the technique of kiribuse applique of an Ainu pattern on a cotton fabric.
Kiribuse means that the pattern is cut out symmetrically and stitched on.
The chic colors of this tapestry are complemented by the gorgeous floral pattern in the center.
It can be used not only as a wall hanging but also as a table centerpiece.
The artist's husband, Shigeru Araki, is a woodcarver, and together they are involved in producing vairous crafts.
It is ideal for home use or as a gift.
