Kyo-yuzen, which is the hand-dyeing of Japanese paintings, spread during the Edo period. In the Meiji period (1868-1912), katazome yuzen, which uses stencils, was born. The katazome yuzen molds are made by Yuzen Engravings artist. They create delicate and beautiful products using kiri-kata, in which designs are engraved by hand using tools such as small knives and round gouges, and laser processing, in which designs are engraved using design data that has been cultivated over the years.
