The Hida Takayama region of Gifu Prefecture has long been known for its wood crafts.
ICHII ITTO BORI , which originated here in the late Edo period (early 1900s), takes advantage of the beautiful grain of yew, a famous wood.
It is characterized by a technique that leaves engraving marks on the surface.
I have inherited this tradition and produce ornaments with motifs of lucky charms. All of my works are bold and delicate, carved by hand using chisels and knives.
They are recommended as interior decorations that fit in well with modern life, as they are both rustic and modern.
We hope you will find peace of mind through the simple woodwork born in the Hida region of the mountains.
