This artwork features a unique motif of a school of horse mackerels.
The edge and the lower part are painted in deep-sea blue, while the base depicting horse mackerels is finished in a colorless nashiji finish to express the realism of fish swimming vigorously.
Approximately 13.39 in. in diameter, the powerful design expands upward.
Kagami Crystal's gravure sculptures are created using a technique called copper wheel engraving, which is considered to be the highest form of gravure sculpture.
A copper disk attached to a rotating shaft is coated with a fine, oil-soluble mineral sand and patiently engraved with a drawing on the surface of the glass or other object, resulting in a delicate, richly shaded expression.
